Mark your calendars!
Our Surface Pattern Design Mastery Group-Study starts on September 24, 2018. In this course you’ll learn how to turn your sketches, paintings and illustrations into surface pattern design layouts in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. You’ll also have free access to WGSN, the industry’s leading resource for trends and design direction.
We were recently invited to create a series of notebooks that will be put up for sale in the new Blurb Bookstore. We would love to take this opportunity to highlight the work of our fantastic Textile Design Lab members.
On September 21, 2018 Textile Design Lab members will receive a series of design briefs based on various journaling themes. Members then have one week to design cover art that is inspired by one, or all, of the themes. Designers are welcome to submit one design per theme. One winner will be chosen for each theme.
Winners will receive $250 in exchange for a flat fee licensing deal for the journal category. This means that winners will retain the copyright to their work, but agree to allow us to use the artwork on journals for the next two years.
Be on the lookout for more details and the briefs to be released this Friday, September 21st!
September Design Challenge: Aloha!
We hope you aren’t too burnt out on the travel themes from the Summer of Creativity, but we just loved this Hawaiian theme for S/S 2020!
2) Vintage. This vintage take on the trend features maps, souvenir graphics and washed-out color palettes.
Upcoming Event: Guest expert Shannon McNab
Mark your calendars! We are delighted to welcome designer Shannon McNab into the Lab on September 25th at 1pm EDT.
Weekly Art Critique Please join Michelle for this week’s live art critique held THURSDAY at 1 PM EDT. This is a fun event where Lab members come together to review artwork and ask questions about pattern design, marketing and sales. A registration link will be emailed out early on Thursday morning and will also be posted in our Weekly Art Critique forum. Textile Design Lab members can watch past critiques here.
