New Tutorial: Building a Stripe Repeat with Small Motifs Using Distribute Commands
This tutorial covers how to build an evenly spaced stripe repeat out of small motifs using Photoshop’s Distribute commands. Lab member Mary McMurrer gave Chelsea the idea for this tutorial, so thank you Mary! The video is under 20 minutes and gives an idea of what to do if you have a set of motifs that you want to turn into a repeating vertical stripe with even spacing between the motifs. We hope it will be a useful addition to your design toolkit!
You can check out the tutorial here.
If you ever have an idea for a tutorial that you want covered feel free to email Chelsea at [email protected]!

Chelsea’s Challenge: Pop Punk
For this month’s Chelsea’s Challenge we will be playing with the fun “Pop Punk” trend that applies to all fashion markets right now (women’s, men’s, juniors and childrenswear.) There are three different directions you can explore within this trend, including punk academia, graffiti, and goth. You might also mix and match from the trends to create a unique pattern collection that still falls under the “punk” umbrella. Find all the fun right here.
