Grab Your Spot: Photoshop for Designers 1 & 2 Group-Study
Mark your calendars! Photoshop for Designers 1 & 2 Group-Studies start on November 18, 2019!
Your creative spirit does not have to be inhibited by software or the digital art world. The two can come together in an amazing collaborative effort. In these 6-week courses you’ll discover the most efficient and effective use of Adobe Photoshop while creating the artwork that you love to design.
Photoshop for Designers 1 is an intensive course, so we recommend starting with that course and then taking Photoshop for Designers 2 when it runs again in the Spring or you can work through the self-study at any time!
Mark Your Calendars: November Illustrator Live with Laura Coyle
A message from Laura, “Thanks to all who participated in the September session, where we talked about working between Photoshop and Illustrator, and also using the CC Libraries in Illustrator. I hope that has been helpful!”
Our next meeting is November 19th, Tuesday at 11 AM Eastern.
I’ve noticed a few people have been interested in talking more about Recolor Artwork and I think this will make a good starting point for November’s session.
If you have specific questions on Recolor Artwork, please add them to this thread. I’m in the process of gathering examples and research, and I learn a lot from your specific needs as textile designers.
Other questions are welcome here too, and I’ll try to leave time for spontaneous questions too. Thanks! I am looking forward to it! I hope you can join us.

New Design Challenge: Boho A Gogo
Welcome to the November Chelsea’s Challenge! This month we will be tackling the “boho” or bohemian trend for Spring/Summer ’21, which combines a really fun mix of influences and is a great style in which to push your creative boundaries. You may want to think of end products like voluminous maxi dresses, peasant blouses, and items adorned with ruffles or fringe that really capture that free-spirited bohemian feel, but you also don’t need to limit yourself to designing apparel–feel free to adapt this trend to any market that interests you–it certainly carries over into accessories, home decor, stationery, etc!
Incorporating global and folk influences, the maximalism trend, and nods to the 1970s, boho style is very much an eclectic mix and match that can be interpreted in so many ways–this is what makes it so fun to play with! A few brands you may find inspiring for this theme include Etro, Ulla Johnson, Johnny Was, and Free People.
