Opportunity: Designer Feature on the Pattern Observer blog!
We love to feature our TDL members on the Pattern Observer blog and our social media accounts. If you are interested in a feature, please fill out every answer on this form. If your submission is accepted we will reach out to you with a publishing date. We are also interested in sharing videos on social media, since they are all the rage these days…so if you want to create a short video for social media of your artwork/portfolio, an animation of your art, or working in your studio, that would be great as well, but not necessary for a feature. A good length is around 6-60 seconds. You can easily make something on your phone these days or in Adobe Express.
Upcoming Event: Exploring Photoshop with Sherry London
Sherry will follow up her September smart objects/pattern preview theme with using Pattern Preview for half drop repeats on Monday October 17th at 11am EST, these talks have been so informative for using Photoshop to create repeats from hand drawn motifs. In Sherry’s August covered “From scanned image to Pattern Motifs”—How to prep non-destructively so you can repurpose motifs easily. This tutorial is a great refresher for using layer masks and smart objects on artwork you are editing. Find the recording with this link. In the meantime, play around with using Adobe Fresco for brushes and motifs and move them over to the Illustrator App and any questions you have you can ask them next month or tag Laura in the forum (@laurac) You can watch the recording here for an introduction into using Fresco for brushes. On August 23rd Laura showed us how to properly insert documents from Illustrator to Photoshop and she went over a quick demo on preventing file and setting loss when Illustrator crashes. You can watch the demo here and download her PDF for Illustrator file recovery here. If you have suggestions/questions for future sessions, please add them to this thread. You can ask her questions by tagging @laurac
