Home Decor Month!
It’s not too late to join us for Home Decor Month in the Textile Design Lab.
In October, we are gathering together as a community to explore the home decor market and become more informed designers! We’ll be achieving this goal through three guest expert presentations. Jenny Bova is kicking things off with an interiors industry overview (recording here) and a second presentation on wallcovering and murals (recording here). On October 19th at 10 am Eastern, we’ll hear from Laura Olivia, who will share tips for designing bedding.
After the presentations wrap up, a home decor design brief will be released, and members will each create a collection for the home decor market. WGSN is a part of the course. Grab your spot here.
Chelsea’s Challenge: Animal Skins
WGSN writes of the trend:“Animal skins have been on the back burner for some time, but we expect them to re-emerge for S/S 23, in exploded scales and abstract styles.
Upcoming Event: Ultimate Guide to Repeats
With more and more agents and studios requiring repeats, it’s become increasingly important to learn how to create higher-quality repeats in less time.
In the Ultimate Guide To Repeats Group Study, you’ll have access to a toolbox of techniques that you can use to create more interesting, professional repeats that agents, studios, and clients are looking for in today’s market.
This course has been updated and the new videos will be added to the Lab as the course progresses. This group study is designed to keep you motivated and feeling supported as you master repeats!
This event is FREE for all Textile Design Lab members and the first lesson will be released on Monday, October 25th. Members can register here.
Recording Posted: The Surface Pattern Design Journey by Rachael King
We are pleased to welcome Rachael King as our Textile Design Lab guest expert of the month!
On Monday, September 20th Rachael shared her story “to illustrate how our Surface Pattern Design journey can take us in so many directions and how I have shaped my business to offer many income streams including licensing, branded product, Spoonflower, book sales, tutoring, and guest talks.”
It was an enlightening presentation and the recording is posted here.
