This course also includes access to WGSN so be sure to sign up below.

If you’ve already taken the Sellable Sketch or you are looking for quick design inspiration, I encourage you to check out our latest design challenge: Back to School. You can find more information below.

Mark your calendars! Our popular Sellable Sketch Group-Study starts on October 2, 2017.

In this course you’ll bring clarity and focus to your collection development process and take the guesswork out of what to design each season by picking appropriate trends for your target market while staying true to your own artistic style.

You’ll also have free access to WGSN, the industry’s leading resource for trends and design direction.

Back-to-school-flowersNew Design Challenge: Back to School

This month’s theme is back to school for the Fall 2019 season (however you can also apply this trend to Spring 2019 if you have not yet moved on to designing for fall–we all move at our own pace through the seasons!)

The overarching idea for this month’s trend is a super bold, almost punk take on classic back to school/fall patterns, and creating contrast within your design. Think super sweet florals paired with a bold stripe, or the flowers made bold through color or scale. Classic plaids or stripes can be enlivened and made modern through a palette of punchy primaries, or by adding distressed textures.

Members can get involved here.

Weekly Art Critique

Don’t forget to join us for our live art critique held this THURSDAY at 1 PM Eastern. This is a fun event where Lab members come together to review artwork and ask questions about pattern design, marketing and sales. A registration link will be emailed out early on Thursday morning and a link can also be found in our Weekly Art Critique forum.

Textile Design Lab members can watch past critiques here.

  1. My WGSN is not working though I signed up for Sellable Sketch. My interest is fashion.

    Thanks,

    Teresa
