Upcoming: The Wellness Workshop

Wellness has become increasingly important in our society. How can we answer this need through the products and patterns we create?

In this two week workshop we’ll take a deep dive into the wellness industry and explore what it means to your business and creative process. You’ll identify ways to address this societal shift in the products and patterns you create and also explore wellness practices that can be incorporated in your life; to strengthen your creative practice. Workshop dates: March 16 – March 27

In this live training session Laura covered:

• Scripts + a color randomizing script (great for jumping into a design with instant color)
• Actions, assigning above the script to an action, and a demo on how to create/use an action
• Preparing a repeat pattern unit for exporting to avoid the dreaded tiling lines (an issue that came up in another forum and involves checking dimensions and using the pixel grid controls)
• When to use the Pathfinder and instances when you would use it instead of the Shape Builder

Vicki helps small and startup fashion labels to succeed in their business and we are so excited to bring her wealth of experience to the Textile Design Lab guest expert role.

In this insightful presentation Juliet shares an overview of her process, starting from the product idea to shipping the final product to the customer. This includes tips for sourcing materials, determining your retail price, photography, marketing, and more.

Juliet is the owner of Juliet Meeks Design, an art and surface design studio she has been working on full-time since 2015. She’s based in her hometown of New Orleans, and creates a stunning array of original paintings and products adorned with her signature style.

Our art critiques are fun events where Lab members come together to review artwork and ask questions about pattern design, marketing and sales.
