New Design Challenge: Boho A Gogo

Welcome to the November Chelsea’s Challenge! This month we will be tackling the “boho” or bohemian trend for Spring/Summer ’21, which combines a really fun mix of influences and is a great style in which to push your creative boundaries. You may want to think of end products like voluminous maxi dresses, peasant blouses, and items adorned with ruffles or fringe that really capture that free-spirited bohemian feel, but you also don’t need to limit yourself to designing apparel–feel free to adapt this trend to any market that interests you–it certainly carries over into accessories, home decor, stationery, etc!

Incorporating global and folk influences, the maximalism trend, and nods to the 1970s, boho style is very much an eclectic mix and match that can be interpreted in so many ways–this is what makes it so fun to play with! A few brands you may find inspiring for this theme include Etro, Ulla Johnson, Johnny Was, and Free People.

Speed Up Your Design Process Using the Content-Aware Fill Tool

In this new tutorial Chelsea shows you some ways of using the new Content Aware Fill command in Photoshop to speed up your design process. This tool can be used to aid in building textures and all-over patterns, and as a short-cut when putting certain patterns into repeat.

Now, with the latest release of Creative Cloud, we have a fabulous new dedicated Content Aware Fill command that allows you to preview and adjust the fill before applying it to your design. Let’s take a look at how this works with a few different examples!

Check out the tutorial here.
